(purpose, plan, potential, power, provision)         5 Ps

PURPOSE:

Ps. 138:8

“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me;

Your love O Lord, endures forever—

Do not abandon the works of Your hands.”

Ps. 57:1-2

“Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,

for in you my soul takes refuge.

I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings

until the disaster has passed.

I cry out to God Most High,

To God who fulfills His purpose for me.”

Jeremiah 15:11

“The Lord said, ‘Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose;

surely I will make your enemies plead with you

in times of disaster and times of distress.’”

2 Thessalonians 1:11

“With this in mind we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you

worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good

purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.”

2 Timothy 1:9

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began

Each person has a purpose in life, and a purpose for life. You have a purpose in life, whatever you may be thinking. You are valuable, and have value.

God has a purpose for you. His purpose was instilled in you at conception, and since your birth, He is giving direction to you, and it is up to you as an individual if you accept His direction and follow Him.

Ps. 138:8

Proverbs 19:21

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

 

PLAN

Jeremiah 29:11

“ ‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ “

Psalm 33:11

:But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations.”

Isaiah 25:1

O LORD, You are my God ; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name ; For You have worked wonders, plans formed long ago, with perfect faithfulness

The Lord has a plan for each of us, a perfect plan that we have received the capabilities and gifts to fulfill. We need to make the CHOICE to listen for His direction, and follow through.

 

POWER

Acts 1:8

but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Romans 15:13

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 4:20

For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline

1 Peter 1:5

who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

When God calls us, and gives us a direction to go, He never leaves us on our own, or to act on our own, He supplies the Power in the Person of His Holy Spirit.

 

POTENTIAL

Do you remember the story of the ugly duckling? He didn’t walk like a duck, he didn’t quack like a duck, and he didn’t look like a duck, but he lived among the ducks in the barnyard. Then one fine day, he heard a call from above. He had never heard it before, but in him was an instinct that answered that call. In the sky he saw a speck. The speck became a long trail. The call became louder and more insistent. The ugly duckling began to flap his wings. He found that he could fly. Up above the barnyard, higher and higher he flew, to answer that call and to join that company. He disappeared from the barnyard. The ducks never saw him again. “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles.”   Isaiah 40:31

Ephesians 3:16-21

16 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, 21 to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Joshua 1:8

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful

Placed within us at birth are the seeds that will germinate and grow in us to form us into the people God will work through to make a Godly difference in this world. We each have the CHOICE to make if we will seek the way and will of God, and reach our full potential in Him.

PROVISION

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus (NIV)

You can be sure that God will take care of everything you need, his generosity exceeding even yours in the glory that pours from Jesus.  (The Message)

Matthew 7:7-11

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Observe and consider the ravens; for they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; and [yet] God feeds them. Of how much more worth are you than the birds!  Luke 12: 24

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Matthew 6: 33

As we choose to serve Jesus, and follow Him, our needs will be met, as He knows our every need.

SALVATION

John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave  his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast

Romans 3:22-24

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference,23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

The gift of salvation, in Jesus Christ, is the greatest gift we will ever receive, and this gift is ours if we only ask God. The price was paid by Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins, in His death and resurrection, and He offers this free gift of salvation to all.
