Save Our Land

Jeremiah 2: 1-13; 5:1

I realize this word was spoken by God thru Jeremiah to God’s people, the people of Israel, but

possibly there are similarities to our country throughout the years until today.

When this land of Canada was founded, it was on Christian principles with men who loved God,

in leadership.

Throughout this passage we read of the shift that was made from serving God and worshiping

God, to idols.

This has been happening in our country and even in our city over the years as well. It is not so

blatant as an idol with a shape sitting on an altar, but it is there just the same.

Many people have started serving “self”. Pleasing self, no matter what has to be done, takes up

the time of a number of people, and therefore that becomes their god.

Over the years the focus of people has been removed from the true and living God. Many have

turned from God and have turned from receiving an abundance of the never ending “Living

Many have gone their own way trying to find life in all the wrong places. The places where they

look may seem to be enjoyable for a while, but the pleasure runs out and they look elsewhere.

The “Abundant Life”, and “Living Water” of God will never run out.

God gave a challenge that if one righteous person could be found, He would forgive the people

of Jerusalem.

If God looks and finds righteous people now, will He forgive our cities and our land?

If people of God intercede and call out to Him, will He save us from destruction?

I believe God will save our cities and our land. I believe if we call out to Him with pure hearts,

He will hear us and answer us. He will restore us as a people, and He will guide us to act in a

way beneficial to our cities and our country.
