“He won’t walk over anyone’s feelings, won’t push you into a corner. Before you know it, his justice will triumph;”
New Living Translation
“He will not crush those who are weak, or quench the smallest hope, until he brings full justice with his final victory.”
When one of His people is suffering, and has been hurt to almost the point of breaking, our Lord Jesus Christ would not break and destroy, nor ignore that person. Our Lord was, and is, in the healing and restoration ministry.
Someone may be suffering, and there may not even seem to be any spark left in that life, but that does not mean there isn’t one buried deep inside. A desire may still be there, although covered with so many hurts, and so much pain, it is almost forgotten, except deep in the spirit. A hurting person may keep everything inside and not share their thoughts or hurts. They may remain silent and most others will not notice, or will ignore that person, BUT JESUS knows and He cares, and He will not extinguish the spark that is in the ashes.
Jesus will gently fan the embers until once again there is a glow, and the light, which is actually His light in us, is seen by many once again.
As a follower of Jesus, and with Him Living in us, we need to have a desire to serve Him, and then a willingness to be used by our Lord to be a splint to help hold a broken part of the body straight so healing can take place.
We also need to be oil and salve which can be applied to heal cuts and bruises.
It is also necessary that we do not pour water on a wick, or cover it and leave it. These actions would include speaking negatively into a person’s life, or possibly intimating or saying that it is the person’s own fault for the situation they are in.
We need to gently fan the inner spark that is left for re ignition to take place and restore the life, the same as the oxygen in the air along with a gentle breeze will build a fire again.
This is done by encouraging those who are down, and not leaving them alone even when they say not to bother them. A phone call, card, or email are possibilities for encouragement without being in the person’s face continually and will let them know they have value, and we care.
As a piece of paper can be used to fan a burnt ember and restore a flame, we can be used by God to uplift others. The Holy Spirit will direct us the same as we direct the paper. As oxygen brings life to the fire, the Word of God will bring new sparks and life to one who is hurting and downcast. Time needs to be spent, just as one wave of the paper will not re-start the fire, one verse of Scripture will not usually re-kindle a life to fullness.
Through praying and growing together we can be a strength and encouragement to one another.
