Do we as individuals really realize and accept how important we are to God? The majority of us probably believe we are somewhat important, because God created us. Those who do not believe we are a creation of God, and believe the cosmos just happened, and living creatures evolved through millions of years until the current species of humanity was arrived at, I hope someday you will take some time out of whatever your busy schedule involves, and seek for yourself if the GOD I am speaking of exists, and is the creator of all that is.
I don’t mean to seek just “any god”, as there are many false gods made up by people who create a god in their own image, or the god image they desire. I ask you to seek the true living God, the God of creation, the God who gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to be hung on a cross, to pay the death penalty for our sins, so we are able to have a relationship with Him.
The True Living God hears when we speak to Him, and He answers. I ask you to take some time, take your focus off work, school, self, money, cars, hobbies, etc., and start to talk with God. Talk normally, as if He is sitting in the room with you, because, the Holy Spirit Of God is with you there, He is everywhere. Don’t ask me to explain the omnipresence of God, but I believe it, I accept it, and I know that wherever I go, Holy Spirit is there.
Now, back to the initial part of this writing, of our importance to God, our Creator, and Jesus Christ, who willingly came to earth from the Glories of Heaven to die for us, and become our Saviour, if we only ask forgiveness of our sins ask Jesus into our lives.
Many years ago, when I was a pre-teen, I was a steady church goer with my family, and I did make a decision to ask Jesus Christ to forgive me if my sins, and I gave my life to Him. I knew, and I still know for a fact, that Jesus forgave me at that time, and He started to give me direction for my life, which I followed for a number of years.
It was in my mid to late teen years, I started to wander away, doing things my way, giving in to school peer pressure.
Even though I did many things against the Will of God, and knew that I was hurting Jesus, God instilled some safeguards in my body that I am so thankful for. One safeguard from God, was that whenever I drank alcohol, I was sick to my stomach, so that prevented abusing alcohol or my body that way.
At one stage during those turbulent years, I hung out with a group of guys and we played cards every weekend. That part was always fun, until some started excessively drinking, and some started using drugs. Due to another God instilled safeguard, fear, I never attempted to use drugs at all. The turning point in me changing friendships again, was the one night when a few of the guys got high on drugs, crawling around the floor, barking and fighting like dogs. I was never associated with any of them again.
A number of years I was hanging out by myself, in crowds, such as roller skating, hockey games, bowling etc..
Then I met a wonderful lady while bowling, and over a few years we fell in love (me first), and got married.
A couple of years past, and we were blessed with a great son. It was about that time, as I reflect over the years, that Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, left the ninety-nine sheep in the pen, and came looking for me, the one sheep who had wandered away, getting lost, not knowing where I was Spiritually, or what was ahead. A few years later we were blessed again, this time with a beautiful daughter.
For this part of my story I reflect on the following passage from the Bible, God’s Word.
3 Then Jesus told them this parable:
4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?
5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders
6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’
7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Jesus Christ came looking for me, and He knew exactly where to look, because He is Omniscient, (All Knowing).
Jesus Christ knows exactly where each person reading this is also. He knows where you are physically, as well as spiritually, emotionally, mentally.
Jesus is calling you, if you are not already with Him, He has great Love for you. He died for you.
When Jesus came out to the wilderness where I was, He called my name, gently picking me up and carrying me back to the sheep fold.
He will do the same for anyone reading this.
Recently, we have been singing a fantastic song in church which as ministered to me, causing me to reflect again the Great Love God has for each of us, and upon my life, and God Caring for me, giving His Son to die for me, and coming after me, carrying me back to His place reserved for me, so I could serve Him again as He leads.
This song indicated is called “Reckless Love” By Cory Asbury, and is available for viewing on YouTube.
