Stopping, To Hear God

“The Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing flame of fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was on fire, yet it was not consumed. So Moses said, “I must turn away [from the flock] and see this great sight–why the bush is not burned up.” When the LORD saw that he turned away [from the flock] to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.””

When God acts to get our attention, He has something to tell us, or something for us to do, or to receive.

We need to respond in a positive way, and act on it, check it out to see what it is that God is wanting our attention for.

I wonder what would have happened, if Moses had not turned to check out the burning bush, because we read that it was after God saw Moses turn from the flock he was caring for, to check out the bush, that God spoke to Moses.

How often have I missed a message from God, because I was too involved in my daily routine, or things in life, to stop what I was doing and pay attention to a sign God was giving, and then listen to Him.
