A Desired Legacy

Genesis 5:22-24
22 Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

23 Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years.

24 Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.

This passage of Scripture continually amazes me every time I read it, or even think of it. In listing the genealogy, Holy Spirit inspired the writers for all the others listed, to write “ ……fathered…….lived another X number of years and then he died.
With Enoch, Holy Spirit inspired writing says “Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah”. Followed by “Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.”

Wow, what a difference. Enoch didn’t just live, he WALKED WITH GOD. And then there is no record of Enoch’s life coming to an end, it appears he continued walking with God right into Eternity in Heaven where he met God.
Enoch must have pleased God so much that God called him to Heaven early, because Enoch was much younger than those before him, or those who followed him.

What a legacy to leave children, and following generations.

My one true desire in life, is to live a Godly life, that will be noticed by family, and others, and when this life on earth comes to an end, it will be said of me “he walked with God”.

God’s Blessings.
