Genesis 3:1
“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.
He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” “
When I think of my life, while reading this verse, I see a similarity. Look at it again, perhaps you will as well.
When any temptation to sin ever came at me, it was during times of being alone. Satan knows we are most vulnerable during those times, and that is when he will attempt to pull us away from God.
Ecclesiastes 4:12
And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Hebrews 10:24-25
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,
25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
There is great value and importance in being connected and accountable to other Christ Followers. As we see in Ecclesiastes, God knows the weakness of a person alone when attacks or temptations come, and He shows us how to stand strong, having others to be with us. Talk to a trusted person about a temptation you are thinking of stepping into, or a group of Christians. Have an accountability partner or group.
We all need to meet regularly with other Believers, to learn, to be encouraged as well as to encourage others, because we all help strengthen one another in that way.
God’s Blessings.
