Submit To God’s Will, Even When Being Attacked

In battle, even when things looked tough, Joab, whom King David appointed over the Israelite Army, said to the troops:1 Chronic. 9:13 Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to him.”
His concern was not for himself, but for the people and the cities of God. He would do everything possible to protect all those people, but he realized, and submitted the entire situation then to the Will of God.
When we are in a difficult situation, or are being attacked in some way, do we do our best to overcome, and at the same time realize God is in control, and surrender to His will? OR, do we blame God for the situation we find ourselves in?
If we are blaming God, I don’t believe we can be surrendered to His Will. Also, if we are sitting blaming God for the situation, we are not thinking of the solution, or seeking His direction.
Nothing surprises our God, and He knows the outcome of each and every situation before it even happens. BUT, that does not mean we sit and do nothing. He has given us a mind to think in each situation, as well as the indwelling Spirit of God, in Christ Followers, to seek Him, and hear His voice.

One Response to Submit To God’s Will, Even When Being Attacked

Great post on submission. It seems to me that Americans are stuck on wanting to be in control of everything. We focus on the things that the Bible warns against like pride of life, self determination, entitlement, etc. It all stands in the way of submitting it all to God and seeking His will for our lives. Until we surrender it all to Him, we cannot be victorious in life. I also agree that we do not just sit around and expect God to hand us blessings without our efforts, but we can ask for His divine guidance and He will never fail us. Thank you for posting.
