Do We Obey the Spirit’s Prompt

Powerful prayer of Simeon, when he met the Saviour, when our Saviour Jesus Christ was 8 days old, at the Temple in Jerusalem.Note, at the time, Simeon declared that Jesus, the Christ, was a “light revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to God’s people Israel.” Through the Spirit, Simeon saw Jesus as more than a baby, Simeon saw Jesus as a full grown man, the Messiah who had been promised by God over many years, through many prophets.

This definitely had to be a prayer inspired by the Spirit of God.
And Simeon spoke this out, in the temple boldly. He dared not who else might be near, the Spirit of God led him, and he obeyed.

Luke 2:29-32
“Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace,

according to your word;

for my eyes have seen your salvation

that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,

a light for revelation to the Gentiles,

and for glory to your people Israel.”

Question—When I (we) feel the Spirit of God directing us to speak, how do we respond?
