Mark 4:37-41And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
The Apostles allowed fear to rise up within themselves when a storm came upon them, even though Jesus was right there, in the boat with them. Where is faith?
Hold on now, when a storm has come into our life, such as illness, loss of job, financial instability, or other storms, do we stand tall in faith that Christ will provide, or do we allow even a bit of fear to move into our mind and heart?
The Apostles had Jesus right there in the boat with them, and yet fear entered.
What about us Christians? We have the Lord Jesus, the Spirit of Jesus, within us, always with us, and do we still allow fear to enter the situation, and our mind?
After Jesus calms the storm, they are all terrified of who Jesus is, with powers like that.
When Jesus does something powerful in our lives, do we stand back wondering what is going on? Or do we stand in awe of Who Jesus is, and worship Him?
The Bible tells us Jesus Christ is all powerful, so He can do all things–we should not be surprised, or have fear when we experience His Might.
The Bible says Jesus is everywhere, so there is no place we go, where He is not–we should not allow fear to intimidate us when the King of kings is always with us.
The Bible says Jesus is all knowing, so He knows every situation before we even get into it, –so we should not fear when the Prince of Peace is with us, knowing what happens, and He is in control.
Whatever comes into our lives, Jesus knows about it. Whatever comes into our lives, Jesus Christ is still worthy of our praise, because He never changes. Hallelujah!!
