“Help us, O God of our salvation,
for the glory of your name;
deliver us, and atone for our sins,
for your name’s sake!”
How often do we call out, “Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name,”?
OR– How often do we call out “Help me God, so I can “get this”, “do this” “go there”, “ meet him / her”?
Everything we do in this life, this life given by God, is to be for Him. As we live for Jesus, and serve Jesus, He does bless us abundantly, but that is not why we serve Him or others.
So again, when we call out to God for help, it is for His Glory.
There is nothing wrong in calling out and saying:
Help me O God–understand Your Word better, so I can serve others
–teach your Word efficiently to disciple others
–speak boldly in love, to share Jesus with others
–be a better Mom / Dad to raise our children to know Jesus
–work effectively so you will be seen in my actions
–let Spiritual Fruit shine through me, to show Christ
There are many more short statements that each of us can add, personally.
Now, to follow through with actions.
