“If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?”
James 2:3-4 NLT
If this kind of favouritism is shown in a church, meaning that persons who are well off, with an abundance of cash, and it is made known that they give generously, WATCH OUT.
It is possible that deep troubles in the fellowship could begin by showing any kind of favouritism. Before too much time goes by, these persons could be placed in a position of leadership, handling finances, ministries, as if the money was their own they were spending.
Care needs to be taken that persons in any positions of leadership or authority first need to have their lives right with Christ, and live a Christ honouring life as a disciple.
Because a person is a success in business, education, finances, or some other field in the world, is not an indication that they are ready for any ministry position.
As leadership in any Christian Fellowship seek God’s direction, the Spirit of God will lead them.
