Become Like Children?

Become Like Children?“and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Just before going to bed tonight, the thought of the above verse came to mind, so I could not leave it, without doing something about it.
Thinking of one aspect of becoming like little children. I remember with our son and daughter, and now with six grandchildren, how young children are eager to learn, and they keep asking questions. For example, when young, they would crawl into the recliner chair with me, looking through books, and having many questions. As they got older, we no longer can sit in the chair together, but still there are times of talking about life, and other things of interest. That is how each learned as they were growing.

The grandchildren now range in age from 4-11, and the questions vary, but there are still many, and we can chat about experiences, what has gone on, and what to do, and what various things are.

Perhaps that is why Jesus Christ said that we must become like children to enter the Kingdom of God. We need to sit down, as if at the feet of Jesus, seriously looking into the Written Word of God, to draw closer to the Living Word of God, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We can sit, read and meditate on the Word of God, pray to our Heavenly Father in the Power of His Spirit, in the Name of Jesus.
Imagine children clamouring around Jesus to get close, we will get closer to Him also, as we read and understand His Word, and pray, and listen as we pray.

Let us try becoming like children in this way, showing our love for Jesus by spending time with Him, and knowing Him better.

God’s Blessings
