Prayer Preparation Joshua 3:5
‘Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” ‘
Is it possible that we, as Christians, approach God while we are still carrying dirt, garbage, baggage within us, expecting Him to do great things?
When we are Christians, followers of a Holy God, how can we even consider approaching Him, and calling out to Him without consecrating ourselves, and preparing ourselves to be in His Holy Presence?
We need to be cleansed, consecrated ( devoting or setting apart of anything to the worship or service of God).
We need to prepare ourselves through prayer, confession, submission, before we approach our Heavenly Father, and His Son, our Saviour, who is Lord and King of all, in the Power of the Holy Spirit. Then we can approach the Throne Room of God with expectations that the Lord will do wonders for us.
This can be accomplished, as Holy Spirit leads. We need to be willing to change our ways, habits, and make / take time to spend with God.
He has called, is calling; how can we not answer positively.
