“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.”Colossians 1:15-20 ESV
In looking at the above passage of Scripture from the Written Word of God, I get so excited that Jesus Christ, God Himself, loved me. He loved enough, even though He knew me and all my failures and sins even before I was born, to be beaten, whipped, and crucified for me.
This Jesus Christ:
–all things were created by Him; all things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers or authorities
–all things were also created for Him, everything mentioned above was created for Christ by Christ.
–since Jesus Christ did not have a beginning, had always been, and is creator of all things, it is natural that He is, and has always been, before all things.
–because Jesus made all things, and knows all things completely, it is Jesus Who holds this entire world, cosmos together,
–Jesus Christ is the Head of the body, the church. No Pastors, Preachers, Bishops, Apostles or person holding any other title is the head of the church. The “Church” consists of Christians, persons from all time, all nationalities, races, colours, creeds, who have called upon our Lord Jesus Christ to forgive us of sin, have confessed of sinning and repented of sin, and surrendered our lives to Jesus, desiring to obey Him, and live for Him.
–Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead, the firstborn from the dead never to die again. In the Old and New Testaments it is recorded of God raising others from death, but they all passed away again on earth. Jesus Christ lives and reigns victorious for ever. Jesus is and always will be the ONE who is over all His creation, the ONE to be praised and glorified.
–Jesus Christ was given the fullness of Father God. Jesus Christ is fully God, has all the Glory of God, and is all that God is, because Jesus is God.
–through Jesus, all persons are able to be reconciled to God. It is our sin that created the barrier that keeps us from having a relationship with God. The willing sacrifice of Jesus Christ, when He gave Himself to be crucified as payment for our sin, shedding His Blood so we may be cleansed by His pure Blood, was the opportunity given by God so we may have a relationship with Him.
I give all Praise, Honour and Glory, with Thanksgiving to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, Who gave His Life for my sins, so I may have life for eternity. Glory to the Lamb of God, Who alone is Worthy to receive Praise.
