Do you have, or, have you ever had a vision? Or do you know anyone who has said they have a vision, or have had a vision? There are two types of visions, as can be seen from the Dictionary descriptions below.

Visions are Biblical, as can be seen in the book of Joel, where the prophet, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said they would come to be.
Then in the New Testament, it is recorded by Dr. Luke in the book of Acts, where Apostle Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit quotes what Joel wrote.
““And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit.”
Joel 2:28-29 ESV
““‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.”
Acts 2:17-18 ESV
As Christ Followers, I believe we need to have a continual close walk with Jesus, so our spirit and mind is always ready to hear or see what Holy Spirit may tell or show us. To experience true, pure Joy or Happiness, a person needs a close walk with Jesus Christ, being filled with His Spirit, so we will then be sensitive to Holy Spirit when and how He leads or teaches.
The following verse, from a few different versions of the Bible, speaks of what happens when we are missing “God’s Guidance”, “Hearing God”, “Seeing God’s Actions”, “Seeing a Prophetic Vision”, depending on the varying interpretations.
“A nation without God’s guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God’s law!”
Proverbs 29:18 GNB
“Where there is no word from God, people are uncontrolled, but those who obey what they have been taught are happy.”
Proverbs 29:18 NCV
“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.”
Proverbs 29:18 MSG
“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.”
Proverbs 29:18 ESV
Not everyone will receive a vision, but we all need to be prepared in case God chooses to bless us in this way.
If we are blessed in this way, of seeing a vision from the Holy Spirit, or by Holy Spirit planting an idea in our mind and spirit, we need to carefully follow through and write it down. At times a vision will be given where it is pertinent to speak it out, pray it, or act on it immediately. When the vision is received, I believe this will be known by the receiver. If one does have a vision, an idea that won’t leave your mind, and keeps getting added to, check with friends who may have similar ideas, and perhaps work towards the vision fulfillment together.
2 And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. – Habakkuk 2:2-3
Receiving a vision from God is a tremendous blessing, but does not mean, the receiver of the vision is more Spiritual, or special in God’s eyes than anyone else. No pride in oneself should be taken. No one should be thought more highly of, nor placed on a pedestal because God chose them for this method of Him speaking.
The way to be prepared to hear the Holy Spirit is to spend time reading and meditating on the written Word of God, along with time in prayer, speaking to God as well as listening for God to speak by His Spirit.
