Our Choice Of Accepting Jesus

Our Choice Of Accepting Jesus
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16

The above is a powerful verse in the Bible. Many know it is there, and know it by memory, but do lives reflect it, do we really know what it means and what the gospel is?
1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand,
2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you-unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,

4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote the above verses declaring the gospel. Paul writes of events that had happened, which had been prophecies made hundreds of years earlier.
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. – John 3:16-17

These two verses proclaim the Love of our God. Jesus came to earth so the people of all ages could be saved, He did not come to condemn any.
The verses below explain how to be saved.
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”- Romans 10:9-13

So, how does the Word of God, the Gospel, get known by anyone, that the decision can be made to be saved? The answer to that important question is stated in the following verses.
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” – Romans 10:14-15

And then, the victory in becoming a Christ Follower.
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?                     1 John 5:4-5

Of course, we realize there will still be some problems in our life, but we also have the solution.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

It is realized that some will still refuse to become a Christ Follower, saying that they do not believe that a loving God will send anyone to hell.
When it is thought through, as I see it, if a person has chosen to stay away from God all during their life on earth, why would God force them to spend eternity with Him? That would be against the choices the individual made during the years of life they had to choose.

Jesus Christ gave everything He had, His Blood, His Life, to pay the price of sin for us, so we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven. He can do no more when His gift of Salvation is refused.
God’s Blessings. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth, The Life.
