Ambassadors For The King

2 Corinthians 5:20

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore

you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.  NKJV

As Christians we are representatives of Jesus Christ in all we do. It is not just when we are in

services or during organized outreach events that we are His ambassadors. When we are in the

lineup at the grocery store and the cashier is having a difficult time, we are Christ’s ambassadors.

While in the restaurant and the service is slow, or the new server mixed the orders, we are

Christ’s ambassadors. During a sporting event, for ourselves or our kids, and an official makes a

poor call in our opinion, we are Christ’s ambassadors. While at work, school, or in a mall,

surrounded by non-believers who may or may not know us, we are Christ’s ambassadors.

Whenever something negative happens in our lives, we have the opportunity to let the light and

love of Jesus Christ shine through. When someone we are in contact with is having a difficult

time, a few words of encouragement spoken in love may make a big difference. Those words

may also open the door to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with another person, then we will

be able to implore them, as the Apostle Paul wrote, to be reconciled to God. People in the world

need our Saviour, and the Holy Spirit speaks through believers to draw others to Jesus. An

ambassador for a country does all things for the benefit of his / her country, while an ambassador

for Jesus Christ does all things for Jesus and His Glory.
