Jan. 15 & 16, 2015

Two days have been included here as I was later getting home from the Community Centre on Thursday night, and my body was aching too much to think, write, or do anything except lie down.

It was a regular Thursday morning, taking FB to the clinic to have his leg cared for. His leg has been giving him pain again the past two days at a “6” level. On checking FB’s leg, the nurse said part of the scab was off, which was good news, but apparently the new scab is growing over part of the old scab also. FB needs to contact his Doctor re the pain.

JB was not awake quite as early Thursday, but she slept well and before sleeping, started again to read a book by David Jeremiah on God’s Love which helped her relax.

It was a day when we met a couple of our grandkids after school as both parents were going to be later getting home, and Mom was later than usual. It was a rushed time then to get home, grab a bite to eat, a sandwich to go, my water bottle, and get to the Centre, so I forgot to take my pain meds, therefore the suffering followed.

Back to the night at the Centre. We learned early that CT is back in town after being in custody the previous 11 months. That was about his third or fourth term of incarceration, some being of a much more serious and longer term than this one. One concern now is if CT will attempt to take over being “tough guy” from BT who trys to act that way at times. They both are big and strong men, but can have gentle sides at times. CT is one of the strongest men I have met. While chatting with him on Thursday night, about his time away, the present, and the future, some promising things were said. CT said he is the strongest physically and Spiritually that he has ever been. While in jail he did 200 push-ups a day, plus heavy duty weight lifts. I forget the weight he told me. Also he read the Bible through 8-9 times, and read about 20-25 Christian books. He named a number of the books, and they were good, about discipleship, men living a Christian life, Christian family men, plus many more along the same lines. The concern is, he has done the same before, completed two years of Bible College, but skidded backwards. He realizes hanging out amongst others struggling in the same manner is not good, so he will try to avoid being a fixture there, and keep busy in a positive way. His hope and plan is to stay clean, volunteer to help others and work with youth in a few years. Lots of prayer needed,

JB was still depressed and feeling heaviness within. She collapsed again, not knowing what the cause is. She did see a Doctor on Thursday and agreed to see a psychiatrist or psychologist when an appointment can be booked. PA finally came to the Centre again, wasn’t feeling well, hoping to see a Doctor on Friday, but she, JB and I were able to sit and talk for quite a while, and they each relaxed. AT also is seeing a Doctor on Friday because of abdominal pains. She is hoping she is not pregnant because she does not want children. As AT puts it, “I can’t take care of myself, how can I take care of a child.”

Friday afternoon was the memorial service for RX. There was a good showing of friends, and it was good to see a number of street people I haven’t seen for a while since I am not out as often as during the previous 12 years due to these health issues that have caused changes the last couple of years.

If you have read all or part of this long post, I thank you, you are special.
As always, prayers are appreciated for these friends who are dear to me. God’s Blessings.
