The weekend was pretty uneventful as far as street friends and Community Centre friends are concerned.
Some texts were received Saturday from JB saying how bad she was feeling, wishing she had some glass handy to cut herself. She also had to be convinced to eat, since she claims that the thought of solid food makes her ill. JB said she would follow the suggestion of getting some nourishing soup.
Her anxiety was building again, with fears of sickness and dieing. Urged her to focus on positive things rather than negative continually, because the negative keeps pulling her lower. Reminded her that life and death are in the hands of God, and He is in control.
Since she also said she has a fear of the wrath of God, JB needed to be reminded that as a Christian she does not need to worry. Jesus suffered the wrath of God when He took our sin onto His body on the cross. The wrath was against sin and Jesus Christ wore and bore it for us.
It was suggested to JB that she read and think on:
“he sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.” (Job 5:11 ESV)
believing that the Lord will help her through difficult times.
Sunday night JB sent text that she was still filled with anxiety and having panic attacks. She went to chapel today, but appears to not have allowed herself to benefit, and put herself down more instead. She mentioned she has red streaks down her face from anxiety. It was suggested RB list items she likes, and things she likes to do so she will have some positive things on her mind.
Since I had not heard from BM for a few days, a concern was rising. He did finally respond that he is ok, and was hanging out at the library, taking it easy. A concern now is to get some furniture for his room.
This was a regular Monday morning in that I drove FB to the clinic to have his leg checked and the dressing changed. The nurse is pleased with the healing progress, and noted that the scab is almost ready to come off.
JB still has no heat in her apartment. This is especially disheartening since she only moved in a few weeks ago. It was suggested to JB that she needs to keep after the owner, particularly with another cold spell of -21 degrees Celsius forecast, (approx. -4 F.)
JB hit a low point Monday afternoon and wanted to end it all, but did work through that. By supper she said she was doing better.
As always, prayers for each friend is appreciated. God’s Blessings.
