Scripture Passage for 2013

I realize I am a few months late in posting this, but perhaps the timing is right for this to be read by someone who may have missed it earlier. I know the Spirit’s promptings are always right on time, if we listen and hear.

2013

For a number of years the Lord has given me a verse or a short passage for the year, and I thought I would share this year’s, along with a few thoughts on it.

 John 11:21-22

21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

22 But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”

Martha had super faith as she believed that whatever Jesus said would happen, even her brother being restored to life after being dead and buried for four days.

Martha’s faith in Jesus was so great that she knew that nothing was impossible for Jesus.

I want to walk in that kind of faith daily, believing in my spirit, as well as acting and speaking in that kind of faith. In my head I know it, but I want to live, speak, and act it more.

Imagine, walking up to someone, praying for them, believing, and seeing healing; lives changed and restored.

This is the year of breakthroughs, when friends, new and old, are going to truly have their lives reclaimed and restored by Jesus as we speak life, pray and believe while serving through R&R Street Ministry.

For many years we have been preparing the soil, planting seeds and watering, and now I believe, and sense in my spirit, that 2013 will be a year of breakthroughs, and we will see an openness in people to hear, receive, and accept the way of Jesus Christ.

As we prepare ourselves for what Jesus desires to do, let’s trust and believe that He will do as His Word declares. He will strengthen us when we ask and will continue to empower us as we seek Him.

Along with these thoughts, I am including a prayer for each of us as we serve.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus Name, thankful for Your calling, and the opportunity to serve Jesus, and others, in His Name.

We thank You, Father, for Your continuing Protection and Guidance, and ask for it to continue as we serve and minister to many each week.

Father, we know in our minds that You can change people, and that You can heal, but now we ask that You will increase our faith so we will believe in our spirit, speak and act in a manner showing we believe that You will do these things. We believe it is Your desire to have each person come to know Jesus, and to change their lives, and to heal many,

Father, we ask for a Holy boldness as we speak with friends we meet, to speak of the Love and Truth of our Lord Jesus, and we will experience the empowering of the Spirit of Jesus.

Father, we ask that You will enable us to see beyond the physical, and to see as You see, into the Spiritual needs of our friends, and we will have discernment from you as to how to speak to them. We ask You Father to prepare the hearts and minds of those we meet, as You will also prepare us to meet all who cross our paths.

We believe Father that this will be the year that lives will be changed and that many will be Reclaimed for our Lord Jesus, and that individuals and relationships will be Restored so people will live for and serve Jesus.

Thank You Father, be Glorified in all we do, in Jesus Name.
