FREEDOM FROM CAPTIVITY
2 Chronicles 6:36-39
As persons were taken captive physically in days of old, many are taken captive mentally, emotionally, and by lifestyle in these days.
There is so much in the world which is alluring and tempting.
Sometimes a person gets held captive by an instant choice which is made in lifestyle or decisions which are made.
Most times though, I believe individuals gradually walk from the protection and hedge covering of God, and by a process end up in captivity.
Even believers in Jesus at times end up in bondage, and find themselves held captive. For a time, some may not even realize the captivity or bondage that has taken place. At times, if a believer is not staying in close communion with Jesus, and in fellowship with other believers, discernment can be lessened, blindness can set in spiritually, and one can be led down the darkened path.
Even when we are down the darkened path and wrapped in chains of bondage, our Father is waiting for us to call out to Him and is watching for us.
When we realize our sin, and repent of our sin by turning back to our Father and confessing to Him and asking forgiveness, He will free us from bondage and captivity, and draw us close to Himself.
When the Light of Jesus again enters the situation, all darkness will disappear.
Jesus came to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind
When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive (Eph. 4:8 KJV)
Jesus will break all bondage.
Jesus will Lighten the way, and we will again see Him and His way.
Jesus has taken captive all bondages and all that can ensnare us and hold us down.
Our God will hear, forgive and free us.
